Venki Ramakrishnan is an Indian British and American structural biologist. He shared the 2009 Nobel Prize in chemistry “for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome.” In 2015, Venki was elected as the 62nd president of the Royal Society. He still devotedly contributes to biology on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus as a team leader at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB).
