Robert D. Hare, PhD, is a Canadian forensic psychologist and professor emeritus at the University of British Columbia, specializing in psychopathology and psychophysiology. He developed the Hare Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-Revised), considered the gold standard instrument for measuring psychopathy in forensic settings. He is the author of Without Conscience and, with Paul Babiak, co-authored Snakes in Suits. In 2010 he was named a member of the Order of Canada and received the Donald O. Hebb Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology as a Science.
