Elliot Aronson is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, specializing in social influence. In 1972, he wrote one of the foundational books about social psychology, The Social Animal, which is now in its 12th edition. Aronson has won many awards from the American Psychological Association (APA), and was listed in 2002 as one of the 100 most eminent psychologists of the 20th century.
