William Ury

William Ury is an American author, scholar, anthropologist and negotiation expert. He co-founded the Harvard Program in Negotiation. Also, he helped found the International Network for Negotiation with former President Jimmy Carter. Ury is the co-author of 'Getting' to Yes with Roger Fisher, who established the principle trading method and established the idea of the best alternative to a negotiated settlement (BATNA) within negotiation theory.
